Role Overview
We currently have an exciting opportunity within our Maintenance Department for a Maintenance Supervisor with Automation experience.
The purpose of this role is to coordinate a team of technicians to carry out all maintenance work in the plant. The supervisor will ensure all activities are carried out in an efficient manner. The person will fully be responsible for the co-ordination of plants maintenance activities both reactive and preventive maintenance activities using SAP.
The maintenance supervisor will provide Siemens PLC and SCADA technical support on all the equipment in Distribution on 24Hrs 7day basics.
Principle Accountabilities will include:
The following is a list of the basic responsibilities:
- To co-ordinate activities of the engineering team and ensure all repairs to the plant are completed in an efficient manner within the Distribution facility.
- To be fully responsible for the engineering team activities.
- To ensure all staff are trained in the use and correct maintenance of all equipment.
- To ensure that all equipment is repaired by the team to the highest standards.
- To ensure all work is assigned to the appropriate members of the team.
- To record all work carried out by the maintenance department on SAP Shift Report software.
- Identify continuous improvement projects and coordinate and manage these projects.
- To ensure maintenance Health and Safety policies are implemented.
- To provide daily feedback to management through recording and reporting on all maintenance activities.
- To be a hands-on, front-line leader of the team in breakdown situation.
- To have the ability to work under pressure and on your own initiative, and to be a good communicator.
- Manage and coordinate the activity of external contractors.
- Manage the spare parts for the equipment, ensure adequate spares are maintained.
Automation requirements:
- Proficient in PLC programming. Simatic Step 7 STL (Statement List) Siemens Step 7, Simatic Manager, WinCC Flex, WinCC 8.1 and TIA Portal.
- Develop and maintain best practice for the upkeep and maintenance of the software system including system back-ups and security.
- Fault diagnosis & trouble shooting on Site Automation Networks & systems.
Qualification and Experience:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and an Automation engineering qualifications.
- Siemens Automation PLC control experience is essential.
- Experience in leading a team of technicians in an engineering environment.
- Experienced in Mechanical/Electrical engineering.
- Good team player that can use their own initiative.
- Computer literacy, Word, Excel and SAP.
- Refrigeration and other Utility experiences would be an advantage.
