*You will need a car as there is no bus stop near the centre.

*Shift is 8:30 - 19:00 for four days (31.5 hours) and this includes every second weekend, and so, it will NOT suit a student. Applicants who are flexible and can work 10.5hours per day Mon - Sun apply only.

Bishopscourt Nursing Home is a vibrant forward-thinking Nursing Home. Modern and purpose built specifically to cater to the needs of our residents.

We are currently recruiting for an energetic, outgoing and caring Kitchen assistant to join our team. On a full-time basis-4 days a week.

We are based in Liskillea, Waterfall in Co, Cork, T12 RV0P. Your own Transport essential as there is no Public Transport to the Nursing Home.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Ø To support the Head Chef / Cook in the effective operation of the Kitchen.

Ø To wash up all crockery, cutlery and utensils used by the kitchen, residents staff and visitors.

Ø To ensure basic maintenance / hygiene of all kitchen and dining room equipment to

include serving trolleys, place mats, trays and dining room furniture.

Ø To ensure the cleanliness of the total washing up area and to include all the equipment within that area.

Ø Remove all kitchen waste as and when necessary and in accordance with the waste removal policies.

Ø The preparation and delivery of drinks as required by the residents.

Ø To ensure that all records are maintained to the standards required by HIQA the nursing home itself as well as outside monitoring agencies such as Environmental Health.

Ø To ensure adherence to the company policies and procedures relevant to this role.

Ø To ensure the strict adherence to the Safety and security of the Kitchen and Kitchen Practices, including the safe storage and usage of all cleaning products as per company policy and regulations.

Ø To notify the Head Chef / Cook or General Manager of any faulty or damaged equipment used by the kitchen staff.

Ø To ensure the family room has hot water for tea / coffee and there is biscuits, milk and sugar available.

Ø To perform other such reasonable duties as may be required.

Ø Reporting accidents, injuries, dangerous occurrences, near misses, hazards and risks to seniors whose responsibility it is to act upon such information to reduce the risk of accidents. Other Duties :

To attend all statutory training as required by the company and attend appropriate training courses to enhance and keep updated with professional skills and ensure your training is regularly updated

Qualifications and skills:

· Previous practical experience working in a similar setting is desirable but not essential.

· Previous experience working as a kitchen assistant would be an advantage

· Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

· A professional caring and empathic nature.

· Demonstrate flexibility and availability to work allocated hours

· A good level of the English language.
