Join the leader in entertainment innovation and help us design the future. At Dolby, science meets art, and high tech means more than computer code. As a member of the Dolby team, you’ll see and hear the results of your work everywhere, from movie theaters to smartphones. We continue to revolutionize how people create, deliver, and enjoy entertainment worldwide. To do that, we need the absolute best talent. We’re big enough to give you all the resources you need, and small enough so you can make a real difference and earn recognition for your work. We offer a collegial culture, challenging projects, and excellent compensation and benefits, not to mention a Flex Work approach that is truly flexible to support where, when, and how you do your best work.
The role as a Senior Software Engineer in the Application and OS Team, you will help enable Dolby technologies across consumer device operating systems, OTT applications, and reference implementations. You will build and maintain testing, demo, and reference applications, prototype solutions inside applications and OS environments, and troubleshoot ecosystem issues to identify gaps in APIs, platform capabilities, performance, and integration layers. You will work with Dolby engineering teams, OS platform owners, and product stakeholders to define practical solutions that help Dolby capabilities work reliably across the install base.
What we offer:
- Work on technology that helps Dolby capabilities run reliably across consumer devices, operating systems, and OTT services.
- Contribute to practical reference, demo, and testing applications used by engineering teams and ecosystem partners.
- Collaborate with application teams, OS platform owners, product stakeholders, and technology experts across Dolby.
- Own meaningful technical investigations, prototypes, and platform recommendations with visible impact on Dolby’s home entertainment business.
What you will do:
- Build and maintain OTT testing, demo, and reference applications used to validate Dolby capabilities across consumer device platforms.
- Support ecosystem enablement efforts by helping identify missing APIs, platform limitations, and functionality gaps in consumer devices.
- Troubleshoot ecosystem issues across applications, operating systems, media frameworks, software versions, and device configurations.
- Assess Dolby technology and product capabilities relevant for OTT services across the installed device base.
- Analyse gaps across Dolby audio and video capabilities, media playback, platform APIs, and related core technologies.
- Prototype solutions inside applications and operating systems to validate technical approaches.
- Define OS-specific architectures, workarounds, and integration solutions.
- Engage with OS platform owners and internal Dolby teams to support adoption of Dolby capabilities in operating systems.
- Identify needs for common components and industry efforts, including OTT reference applications, Chromium, common media players, W3C, and MPEG.
- Provide OS-specific guidance and documentation for app developers, including content for Dolby’s developer portal.
- Support other Dolby application teams by building demo, reference, and testing apps and by resolving issues in underlying integration layers
