Essential Requirements

- Degree qualified in M&E Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Engineering or a related discipline
- Minimum 2–3 years' experience in an M&E Quantity Surveying or commercial role
- Experience managing project costs on water, wastewater or utility infrastructure projects
- Strong commercial awareness with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and quantity surveying software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary project team

About the Role
Ward & Burke is seeking an M&E Quantity Surveyor to join our team delivering water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the West and Southwest of Ireland.
Working closely with project managers, engineers, site teams and clients, you'll play a key role in the commercial management of projects from tender stage through to final account, ensuring effective cost control, contractual compliance and commercial success throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets and tender documentation for Mechanical & Electrical works
- Evaluate subcontractor quotations and support the procurement of M&E packages
- Measure and value completed works and prepare interim valuations and payment applications
- Monitor project costs and prepare regular cost reports, forecasts and cash flow projections
- Identify, price and manage variations, claims and change orders
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, site teams, subcontractors and clients to achieve commercial objectives
- Attend project meetings and provide commercial guidance to project delivery teams
- Support project forecasting and identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering
- Assist in ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget
