The Person
The successful candidate needs to have a strong customer focus with a strong desire to achieve success for your clients. They will need to be a highly organised individual who is efficient and likes to work to specified targets and objectives. They will need to have excellent communication and administrative skills along with strong problem solving abilities. The Role
The Paraplanner plays a key role in supporting Financial Advisers by providing high-quality technical, research, analytical, and administrative support throughout the financial planning process. The role ensures that client recommendations are accurate, compliant, and aligned with regulatory requirements while delivering an exceptional client experience.
· Meeting with clients, uncovering their financial needs & providing solutions where required
· Maintaining and building client relationships
· Expanding your network and gathering referrals where possible
· Meeting agreed time targets
· Providing an excellent level of customer service at all times
This role will be suit an individual who relishes the challenge of managing a diverse group of clients with a wide range of needs, from both an advisory and service position. Ideally this person will have experience in a similar role while also managing junior team members with the objective of achieving the overall business objectives of the company.
The successful candidate must have an in-depth knowledge of the various pension propositions available in Ireland coupled with a deep understanding of the more advanced financial advisory approaches that exploit a wide variety of non-standard product solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning Support
· Prepare comprehensive financial plans & suitability reports based on adviser recommendations.
· Conduct research into financial products, investment solutions, pensions, protection, and retirement planning strategies.
· Analyse clients' financial circumstances, objectives, and risk profiles.
· Produce cashflow modelling and financial projections where appropriate.
· Assist advisers in developing tailored financial planning strategies.
Technical Research & Analysis
· Research and compare investment platforms, pension providers, insurance products, and other financial solutions.
· Stay informed of changes in legislation, taxation, pensions, investments, and financial planning regulations.
· Prepare technical reports and supporting documentation for client recommendations.
· Ensure recommendations comply with company policies and regulatory standards.
Client Support
· Gather and review client information and documentation.
· Prepare meeting packs, illustrations, and supporting materials for adviser meetings.
· Follow up on outstanding client documentation and provider information.
· Respond to client queries where appropriate, maintaining a professional and timely service.
Compliance & Risk Management
· Ensure all documentation meets internal compliance standards.
· Maintain accurate and complete client records within the CRM system.
· Support advisers during compliance reviews and audits.
· Adhere to all regulatory requirements, including data protection and anti-money laundering procedures.
Administration
· Liaise with providers regarding product information and applications.
· Monitor the progress of new business and existing client servicing activities.
· Assist with annual review processes and ongoing servicing requirements.
· Maintain organised records and documentation.
Experience:
Essential
· Experience in a Paraplanning or Financial Planning support role.
· Strong understanding of financial planning principles.
· Knowledge of pensions, investments, protection, and retirement planning.
· Excellent analytical and research skills.
· High attention to detail and accuracy.
· Strong written communication and report-writing skills.
· Excellent organisational and time management skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
· Experience using financial planning and CRM software.
Desirable
· Experience within a regulated financial services environment.
· Knowledge of tax planning and estate planning.
· Familiarity with cashflow modelling software.
· Experience with investment research tools and provider platforms.
Qualifications:
Essential
· Diploma in Financial Planning (or working towards completion).
· Relevant financial services regulatory qualifications applicable to the jurisdiction.
Desirable
· Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning.
· Chartered Financial Planner status (or working towards).
Salary
Salary will depend on experience
Pay: €30,000.00-€58,000.00 per year
