Radiology Services Manager - UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic

Overview of role:

UPMC Sports Surgery clinic (SSC) is seeking an experienced and dynamic Radiology Services Manager to lead and develop our Radiology Department.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Our department is equipped with state-of-the-art imaging technology, including three 3.0T MRI scanners, CT (with a second CT scanner scheduled for installation in early 2027), two X-Ray rooms, seven operating theatres as well as image guided interventional procedures. While specialising in orthopaedics, spinal and musculoskeletal imaging, the department also provides a broad range of general imaging services.

This is a pivotal leadership role offering the opportunity to shape and grow an established and high-performing radiology service within a leading private healthcare provider.
As Radiology Services Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic direction, operational management, and clinical governance of the department—ensuring the delivery of a safe, efficient, and patient-centred service across all modalities.
You will play a key role in driving service innovation, quality improvement, and departmental expansion, while maintaining a strong visible leadership presence with the clinical team.

Qualifications & Experience:

Qualifications

BSc in Radiography or an equivalent qualification.
Leadership experience as RSM.
Post graduate qualification in Leadership/management (desirable).
CORU registration.

Experience

Significant experience in Radiology leadership (Radiology Services Manager or

equivalent).

Extensive clinical experience in diagnostic imaging.
Proven track record in operational management, service development, and staff

leadership.

Experience in quality improvement, audit, and clinical governanc

Desirable
Postgraduate qualification in Healthcare Management, Leadership, or a related discipline.
Experience managing large multidisciplinary teams and complex imaging services
Experience leading service expansion and innovation projects.
