As part of our continued growth and expansion we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing Assistant to join our Procurement Department.
The successful candidate will be based in our Clonshaugh office and will report to the Purchasing Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a progressive and supportive team with opportunities for growth and career development.
What you’ll be doing as our Purchasing Assistant:
- Raise and process purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Obtain quotations from approved suppliers and compare pricing.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding deliveries, pricing, availability and order queries.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier data and procurement documentation.
- Track outstanding purchase orders and follow up on overdue deliveries.
- Assist with supplier onboarding and administration of approved supplier lists.
- Support the procurement team with contract and supplier management activities.
- Assist with stock control and inventory monitoring where applicable.
- Produce purchasing reports and analyse spend data.
- Support cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
- Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and procurement procedures.
- Work collaboratively with Operations, Projects, Finance and Logistics teams to meet business requirements.
What we’re looking for in our Purchasing Assistant:
- Previous experience in a purchasing, procurement or administration role.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Good numerical and analytical abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience using Microsoft Copilot or similar AI-assisted tools within a business environment.
- Experience using ERP, purchasing or financial systems.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Professional and customer-focused approach.
