We are looking for a Regional Maintenance Planner to join our Lifesaving Operations team in Ireland. Based primarily from our Regional Support Centre in Swords, Co. Dublin, this hybrid role is central to the effective planning, coordination and delivery of maintenance activity across the region.
Working as part of the Regional Technical Team and reporting to the Regional Engineer, you will help ensure lifeboats, launch and recovery equipment, station assets and lifeguard equipment remain safe, available and rescue ready. By coordinating maintenance activities, resources, contractors, stores and engineering information, you will play an important part in supporting lifesaving operations.

As Regional Maintenance Planner, you will help ensure maintenance work is planned efficiently and that the right people, parts, equipment and information are available at the right time. Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and scheduling preventive, corrective and modification maintenance activities through the RNLI's Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), ensuring the effective deployment of personnel, equipment and resources.
- Coordinating maintenance resources and supporting the deployment of technical personnel and contractors to maximise delivery across the region.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance schedules, records and asset information within RNLI business systems.
- Supporting stock control and inventory management activities across remote technical stores and warehouses.
- Managing the receipt, dispatch and return of parts, equipment and technical stores.
- Working closely with engineering, procurement and support teams to improve data quality, reporting accuracy and maintenance planning effectiveness.
- Supporting purchasing activities, supplier coordination and budget administration in line with RNLI procedures.
- Assisting with KPI reporting and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen the regional maintenance system.
Success in this role means ensuring maintenance activity is planned effectively, resources are available when required, records are accurate and RNLI lifesaving assets remain ready for service.
You will be a highly organised planner with strong administrative and systems skills. You will be comfortable managing multiple priorities, communicating with a wide range of stakeholders and working both independently and as part of a team.
To be considered as the Regional Maintenance Planner you will need:
Essential
- Candidates must hold an Irish Leaving Certificate / QQI Level 5, UK A-Level, Engineering BTEC, NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent), or possess equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience working within an engineering, maintenance, logistics or operational environment.
- Demonstrable experience planning, coordinating and scheduling resources, maintenance activities, projects or operational work, ensuring the effective deployment of personnel, materials and equipment.
- Strong IT skills, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills for planning, reporting, analysis and data management.
- Experience using business systems and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to plan, schedule, monitor and report maintenance activities.
- Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
Desirable
- Experience supporting engineering maintenance planning, field service operations or asset management activities.
- Experience of stores, inventory or warehouse management.
- Experience of Microsoft Dynamics or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Experience producing reports, analysing operational data and supporting performance reporting.
