The Role
As a Land Surveyor, you will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of the Dublin Airport underground pass project. You will be responsible for accurate surveying, setting-out, dimensional control and survey data management, while supporting quality, safety and programme compliance in a live operational environment.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Carrying out accurate setting-out and dimensional control for earthworks, drainage, utilities, roads and structures.
- Establishing, maintaining and verifying survey control points, benchmarks and coordinate systems.
- Completing topographic, as-built and progress surveys, producing clear survey reports and drawings.
- Measuring and calculating volumes and quantities, including cut/fill, stockpiles, pavement checks and structure checks.
- Operating and maintaining GPS/GNSS, robotic total stations, digital levels and laser scanning equipment, ensuring calibration and data integrity.
- Preparing and managing digital survey models for design updates and machine control, including dozers and excavators.
- Monitoring site tolerances and QA compliance, including slab levels, alignments and structural positions.
- Liaising with engineers, foremen, subcontractors and designers to support construction planning and resolve survey-related issues.
- Promoting a culture of teamwork, accountability, safety and continuous improvement.
About You
We are interested in hearing from professionals who possess:
- A qualification in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering or a related discipline, such as a degree or diploma.
- Strong experience using GPS/GNSS, robotic total stations and digital levels for setting-out and surveying.
- Proficiency in survey software such as Trimble, Leica, AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar digital tools.
- Experience working on civil engineering projects, including earthworks, drainage, utilities, roads and structures.
- Ability to produce accurate survey data, clear reports and as-built drawings.
- Good understanding of tolerances, dimensional control and QA requirements.
- Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work closely with engineers, foremen and subcontractors.
- A commitment to safety, quality and operational excellence.
- A full, clean Irish driving license is desirable.
