Role Overview:

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Modular Design Managers role is to manage the day-to-day operation of the Modular design team within the CEL Engineering Department.

What You'll Be Doing:

Manage the day-to-day operations of the Modular Design Team.
Provide technical support to the sales team to assist with tendering Modular systems.
Ensure compliance with all relevant standards applicable to the Modular building business unit, such as building regulations, Eurocodes and IEC standards.
Attend all Modular project related meetings on behalf of the engineering team.
Attend the engineering weekly meetings to report on current issues.
Provide weekly reports on the progress of projects within the Modular Design business unit.
Assist with implementation of continuous improvements to the technical designs on an ongoing basis.
Assist with closing out and creating improvements to raised NCRs
Ensure that all relevant documentation is up to date and stored in the company approved storage locations.
Other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
5-10+ Years relevant experience in Modular Construction preferably within the electrical power industry.

Key Competencies:

Strong understanding of IEC standards applicable to modular buildings
Strong understanding of Eurocodes in relation to modular buildings
Strong understanding of the technical standard EN1090-2
Knowledge of integrated cooling systems as related to compact substation cooling.
Understanding of industry best practices in modular construction and safety compliance.
Strong technical interpretation skills for specifications and tender documents.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word).
Strong attention to detail and structured engineering approach.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Strong communication skills.
Self-motivated and capable of working independently
