The Team
Our finance team is a close-knit group of seven, working collaboratively to support the business’s financial health and strategic goals. Led by our CFO, who works with the management team on strategic matters. Our Financial Controller takes the lead on delivering key financial management information and overseeing the team’s day-to-day operations.
We are now looking for an experienced Senior Finance Executive to join our team. This is a pivotal role with a broad remit to support the Financial Controller in operating our processes and controls as required by the Legal Industry, and providing vital support and cover to the wider team to ensure smooth day-to-day financial support to the business. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious candidate with a strong financial acumen and a keen eye for detail to contribute to the growth of our firm.
Responsibilities
- Support the Financial Controller with month-end processes, management accounts, financial reporting, and control procedures.
- Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments, depreciation postings, and intercompany reconciliations.
- Manage the accounting ledgers for the firm’s service and UK entities, including monthly recharges.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and review general ledger activity.
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for 150+ employees across Ireland and the UK.
- Ensure compliance with Law Society Regulations and maintain strong client account controls.
- Monitor Work in Progress (WIP), outlays, client balances, and other key control accounts.
- Provide support and guidance to finance team members and assist with day-to-day finance operations.
Person Specification & Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar finance or accounts assistant role
- Experience withing the legal or professional services sector is advantageous
- Proficiency in using financial legal practice management systems is advantageous
- Strong knowledge of financial control processes and reconciliations
- Experience processing payroll
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Part/fully qualified ACCA or equivalent is advantageous
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
