Here’s what you’ll do:
AECOM is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Principal Structural Engineer to join our Dublin office. This leadership role will focus on delivering complex and high-profile projects across the residential, healthcare, education, and infrastructure sectors. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving technical excellence, mentoring teams, and contributing to the strategic growth of our structural engineering practice in Ireland.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the structural design and delivery of multidisciplinary projects from concept through to completion.

Provide technical oversight and ensure compliance with relevant Eurocodes, Irish building regulations, and industry standards.

Manage project teams, resources, and timelines to ensure successful project outcomes.

Act as a key point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and external partners.

Oversee the preparation and review of structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports.

Drive innovation and sustainable design practices across all project types.

Mentor and develop junior and senior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.

Support business development activities, including bid preparation and client presentations.

Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to deliver integrated solutions.
Sector Focus:

Residential: High-density housing, mixed-use developments, and urban regeneration projects.

Healthcare: Hospitals, primary care centres, and specialist medical facilities requiring complex structural solutions.

Education: Schools, universities, and research facilities with a focus on flexible and sustainable design.

Infrastructure: Transport, utilities, and public realm projects supporting Ireland’s growing infrastructure needs.
Qualifications

Here’s what we’re looking for:
The successful candidate will have experience working within our market, along with the following qualifications and experience:
Education:

Honours Bachelor’s degree (Level 8), or preferably Master’s degree (Level 9), in Structural or Civil Engineering
Chartership (essential):

Chartered Engineer (CEng) status
-
Member of the Institution of Structural Engineers (MIStructE) and/or the Institution of Civil Engineers (MICE)
