Role Title: Strategic Workforce Planning Lead

Vhi Group Services DAC have a full-time permanent vacancy for the role of Strategic Workforce Planning Lead.
Vhi is forming a small Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP) Centre of Expertise (CoE) in the People & Sustainability team, based on an agreed blueprint. Working with the Head of SWP & Reward, senior colleagues across the business, and external advisers as appropriate, the role will initially focus on three pieces of work:

The creation of a headline Strategic Workforce Plan for Vhi, that underpins the new business strategy.
- The creation of the SWP CoE for Vhi, based on the agreed blueprint, that will drive consistency and impact. The CoE will need to provide expert advice, maintain governance, and deliver organisation-wide insights to support data-driven, strategic decisions.

The creation of an SWP ‘playbook’ for Vhi, that defines the SWP practices, methods and process within Vhi, that can be used by the CoE along with senior leaders in the People Team and the business, to create local Divisional plans that underpin the overall Strategic Workforce Plan for the company.

What will you do:
Over time, the role will transition into leading the small SWP CoE, making improvements to our practices as we learn more, ensuring that talent is always aligned with business demand and the Vhi strategy over a 1-3 year horizon. The key responsibilities will be:

Workforce Strategy Development: Lead the creation of multi-year strategic workforce plans aligned to business strategy and macro trends.

Demand and Workforce Composition Forecasting: Model future talent needs, internal capability, and labour market trends using data and scenario planning.

Skills Gap Identification: Analyze current workforce capabilities against future needs to identify gaps and prioritise interventions.

Partnership with Business & HR Leaders: Collaborate with business leaders and HR functions to integrate workforce planning into operational processes.

Scenario Planning & Risk Management: Develop what-if talent models to address different economic, technological, and competitive scenarios.

Reporting & Decision Support: Via the Group Data & Analytics team, deliver workforce insights and dashboards to inform executive decisions, including attrition, cost, and productivity.
What you will need to be successful:-
Strengths in Data Analysis and Storytelling; Strategic Thinking; Communication; Collaboration; Facilitation; and Leadership.
- Previous experience in leading workforce planning activity and teams, ideally strategic workforce planning, based on aligning talent and skills with business demand and strategy.
- Previous experience in setting up entirely new functions/capabilities within a corporate environment, ideally but not essentially in SWP.
- Demonstrate alignment with the Vhi values.
