The Role.
GMC Utilities Group is currently seeking an organised and proactive Metering Coordinator to join our team in our office in Tuam, Galway.
Reporting to the Metering Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating the day-to-day activities of our Meter Reading team. This position is responsible for planning and scheduling work, monitoring progress, liaising with field-based Meter Readers, and ensuring the efficient delivery of metering services while meeting client and operational requirements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Metering Manager in the planning, coordination, and delivery of daily metering operations.
Schedule and allocate work to Meter Readers, ensuring efficient utilisation of resources.
Liaise daily with Meter Readers to monitor progress, resolve scheduling issues, and provide operational support.
Maintain accurate work schedules and update internal systems to reflect completed and outstanding work.
Monitor work volumes and assist in forecasting resource requirements.
Produce and distribute operational and management reports, identifying trends and areas requiring attention.
Track team performance against client KPIs and operational targets.
Coordinate customer appointments and respond to operational queries and escalations in a professional and timely manner.
Ensure all work is recorded accurately within company systems.
Assist with the processing of work completions, payments, and associated administrative tasks where required.
Maintain accurate records and ensure all documentation is completed in line with company procedures.
Provide general administrative and coordination support to the Metering Manager and wider operational team.
Undertake any other duties as reasonably required to support the business.
The Candidate: Required Experience and Competencies:
Previous experience in a coordination, scheduling or administration support role.
Experience within the utilities, construction or a similar operational environment is desirable.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with field-based teams and management.
Strong IT skills with experience using Microsoft Office.
Experience using scheduling or workforce management systems (e.g. Maximo, Click, Syclo) would be an advantage.
Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
