Full job description

Exciting opportunity for a qualified construction plant fitter to join Pat O'Donnell & Co. Ireland’s leading supplier of Heavy Construction Equipment and Machinery, representing renowned global brands including VOLVO Construction Equipment, VOLVO PENTA, Sennebogen Material Handlers, and RHELKO Engines this position is based out of our Branch in Sallybrook, Glanmire Co. Cork.

Candidates must possess a National Craft Certificate in Construction Plant Machinery.

Training provided and opportunities to progress within Pat O’Donnell & Co.

Experience in a Heavy Plant Machinery, mechanical or HGV environment is desirable.

Open to applications from those recently qualified or about to qualify.

Construction Plant Fitter at Pat O’Donnell & Co

Position: Construction Plant Fitter

Job type Full time (39 hours per week)

Main Responsibilities

· Follow safe systems of work, take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others.

· Maintenance and repair of all company products, namely Crawler Excavators, Wheeled Excavators, Wheel Loaders, Articulated Hauliers, Teleporters, Material Handlers and Hydraulic Hammers.

· Maintenance and repair of all components within our products, engines, transmissions, axles and hydraulic systems.

· Work with all electrical systems ECU’s CAN bus systems etc.

· Service, repair and overhaul of brake systems, fuel systems and steering systems.

· Test new machinery and carry out pre delivery inspections.

· Participate fully in all training and development programs and cross skilling for other jobs related competencies.

· Physically fit to complete the above responsibilities in line with our H&S practices.

· Maintain all paperwork in relation to jobs accurately and efficiently on our ERP system.

· Proactive in relation to reporting faults and additional works required to line manager.

· Maintain strong customer relationships as an ambassador for the company.

Experience and Qualifications Required

· Fully qualified with recognised trade certificate

· Full Clean Driving Licence desirable. (Trailor category advantageous)

· Diagnostic abilities.

· Computer literate.

· Good communication skills.

· Good report writing skills.

· Previous experience in service and maintenance of Plant machinery an advantage.

· Demonstrate good work practices including safety awareness, time keeping, tidiness, responsibility, quality awareness.

· Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

· Committed and positive attitude to work.

· Team player

· Must have existing authorisations to live and work in Ireland

· Fluency in English

Pay: From €49,929 per year, (range €49,929 to €55,445)

Company Van provided for those who progress to a Field Service role.

Supplemental pay types: Overtime pay
