About the Company:
DPD Ireland leads the field in next day parcel delivery throughout Ireland, with 38 regionally based collection and delivery depots and state of the art central sorting hubs in Athlone, Co. Westmeath and Dublin.
Purpose of the role:
This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient running of our sortation systems minimising downtime, through fast response, effective root cause analysis and good problem solving techniques. The Company operates 6 days per week, Monday to Friday and Sunday. The successful candidate must be flexible with regard to working days and have the ability to cover either the day or evening/night shifts.
Job Responsibilities:
- Respond to sortation system downtime to ensure that the hub operation can maximise throughput.
- Responsible for repairing and replacing damaged equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment related process problems and equipment failures to determine cause and to investigate repairs.
- Effective analysis and elimination of recurring equipment problems.
- Confer with engineers or other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical information.
- Repair and overhaul of all plant & equipment as required.
- Ensure all executed maintenance activities are recorded on the applicable IT system.
- Contribute on identification, quantification, implementation and presentation of equipment continuous improvement projects
- Completion of Engineering Job Work Permits as required and adherence to health and safety standards.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels to ensure alignment with business goals and objectives.
- Participation in special projects as required.
- The successful candidate must be flexible and willing to travel to various depots and locations across Ireland as required.

Experience Required:
- A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience working in a fast paced heavy mechanical facility is essential.
Qualifications Required:
- QQI Advanced Certificate Craft – Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitting.
- Full clean drivers license
