Employee Relations Specialist (Cork, Ireland)
Role Summary:
Provides employee relations, labor relations, and workforce compliance support to McKesson business leaders and HR partners in Ireland. Responsible for supporting employee relations matters, conducting investigations of moderate complexity, advising on policy application, and helping ensure consistent, fair, and compliant employment practices. Partners with HR, Legal, Compliance, and business stakeholders, escalating complex, high-risk, or precedent-setting matters as appropriate.
Reports to VP, Employee Relations
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide employee relations, labor relations, and workforce compliance consultation to People Leaders and HR partners supporting Ireland-based employees.
- Conduct and support employee relations investigations of moderate complexity, including disciplinary, grievance, dignity at work, and workplace conduct matters.
- Review, assess, and respond to internal employee complaints and workplace concerns, ensuring alignment with Irish employment legislation and company policy.
- Provide guidance and coaching to People Leaders on employee behavior, performance management, documentation, and application of disciplinary processes under Irish law.
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, and senior ER resources on Workplace Relations Commission complaints, Labour Court matters, and other escalated issues.
- Support labor relations activities, including preparation for employee representative engagement, employee forums, or trade union matters where applicable.
- working knowledge of European Union and Irish employment legislation, including unfair dismissals, employment equality, working time, and health and safety requirements.
- Provide guidance on workforce compliance requirements, including statutory leave, working time, accommodations, and local regulatory obligations.
- Support development and delivery of manager and HR partner training on employee relations, labor relations, and compliance topics relevant to the Ireland workforce.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation within case management systems, including intake, investigation notes, findings, and final summaries.
- Identify recurring employee relations themes, documentation gaps, and compliance risks, and escalate trends with recommended actions.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required (HR, Business, Industrial Relations, Law, or related field preferred)
- Minimum 4–6 years of progressive Employee Relations experience, including investigation experience
- Experience supporting Ireland-based employee populations strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of Irish employment law and regulatory environment required
- Experience supporting disciplinary, grievance, dignity at work, or workplace conduct matters preferred
- Exposure to Workplace Relations Commission matters, Labour Court matters, or employment litigation support preferred
- Experience supporting workforce compliance processes in Ireland, including working time, leave, or accommodations preferred
- Experience in a multinational or matrixed organization preferred
