Key Responsibilites:

Operate excavators, forklifts and telehandlers to load, unload, sort and move incoming agricultural plastic across the yard and into the processing line, ensuring a steady, safe feed of material.
Operate and monitor shredding equipment safely, monitoring for blockages, contamination and mechanical faults during operation.
Sort and grade incoming plastics (silage wrap, netwrap, twine, fertiliser and feed bags) and keep the storage area organised, minimising cross-contamination and fire risk from stockpiles.
Carry out routine pre-start and daily checks on all machinery operated, reporting defects or wear promptly to the maintenance team.
Complete accurate production records, including load counts, weighbridge dockets, and material logs as required.
Maintain high housekeeping standards across the yard, weighbridge and processing areas.
Follow all site health and safety policies, including PPE requirements, machine safety checks and lock-out/tag-out procedures at all times.
Assist with baling, banding, stacking and general labouring duties as required by the daily production plan.
Communicate effectively with the site supervisor and other operators to ensure smooth, efficient site operations.
Assist with the safe movement of delivery drivers and third-party hauliers loading and unloading on site.

Essential Requirements:

Minimum 5 years' hands-on experience operating heavy machinery in an industrial, waste management, recycling, agricultural, quarrying or construction environment.
Proven, demonstrable experience operating: excavators, forklifts, telehandlers, and shredders / granulators.
Valid certification/ticket (e.g. RTITB, CPCS, NPORS or equivalent) for forklift and telehandler operation.
Strong working knowledge of health and safety standards, PPE use and safe systems of work.
Reliable, punctual, with a strong work attitude and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in a busy yard environment in all weather conditions.
Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team, as well as liaise with colleagues, drivers and supervisors.
Full clean driving licence an advantage; and be legally entitled to work in Ireland.
