Overview
Dublin Port Company is recruiting for a hands-on HR Generalist, who will work within the HR team to advance our ambitious people strategy. The HR Generalist will support a wide range of HR activities, from day-to-day operations to assisting the HR team on their delivery of the Company's strategic objectives. Areas of work will include, but are not limited to, supporting Recruitment & Onboarding, DE&I, Wellbeing, Employee Engagement, HRIS & Reporting, Change Management, Policy & Compliance, ER & IR and more. The successful candidate will ideally bring prior experience from a unionised setting, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be detail oriented, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day HR support and guidance to employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and employment-related matters.
Support the recruitment and onboarding process, including interview coordination, offer preparation, and new starter inductions.
Maintain accurate employee records and ensure HR systems are updated in a timely manner.
Assist with employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary processes, grievance procedures, and absence management.
Support HR activities, including probation reviews and development planning.
Administer employee lifecycle processes including contract preparation, promotions, and terminations.
Monitor and report on HR metrics and workforce data to support business decision-making.
Ensure compliance with employment legislation, company policies, and HR best practices.
Coordinate learning and development initiatives and maintain training records.
Assist in the implementation of HR projects, initiatives, and employee engagement activities.
Promote a positive workplace culture and support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
Participate in policy reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes and procedures.
Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with discretion.
Undertake additional duties as required to support the HR function and business objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
Mandatory
Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related discipline.
Minimum 3 years' HR operational experience.
Desirable
CIPD qualification desirable.
Experience working within a unionised environment is desirable but not essential.
Experience in a regulated, operational, or infrastructure environment (e.g. transport, logistics, utilities).
Experience analysing employee data/HR Dashboards.
