Fingleton White provide multidiscipline engineering services for the energy industry. We provide a full range of design, construction and commissioning services and are active across many sectors including Renewables, Gas Networks, Water, Energy & Utilities, and Asset Management. The company is responsible for planning and development of some of the most significant projects in the energy sector in Ireland. We have 8 offices across Ireland, Northern Ireland, and England with over 200 staff.

Fingleton White is a company that has been built on sustainability. Our very first project was a hydroelectric power station. Over our 40-year history, we have developed our own projects which have delivered CO emissions savings of well over 2 million tonnes. We are focussed on reducing our carbon footprint and having a positive impact on our environment and communities through our biodiversity initiatives, our energy efficiency programmes and implementing sustainable development targets.

Fingleton White is a key solution provider in this complex journey. We are delivering renewables projects, carbon reduction projects, energy efficiency upgrades and improvements for our clients.

We understand that natural gas, biomethane and hydrogen all have a key role in transitioning to low carbon and achieving zero carbon. Greening of gas networks will be fundamental for supporting intermittent renewable energy sources. Our Gas Networks design team are delivering projects in areas such as Biogas from Anaerobic Digestion, Carbon Capture, Hydrogen and Biomethane for grid injection and transport. Expertise in these areas will be key for the future as they provide unique and complex challenges that requires highly technical and specialised engineering solutions.

Position:

Senior Civil Engineer – REF: 2602

The successful candidate will join an established team with senior support and will have the opportunity, as their career progresses to lead high value and high complexity projects.

An example of some of the responsibilities for the role as the business needs require are as follows:

Project lead for design & contract management of projects from conceptual phase through to project completion e.g., energy projects including power plants, renewables, pipelines and installations (gas, oil, water or wastewater), industrial buildings & utilities.
Statutory compliance for new developments such as planning, fire cert and DAC applications, IPC license requirements.
Building Control compliance and design in accordance with building regulations.
Design requirements for energy projects such as Solar, Hydro, CHP and Power Stations.
Design of other energy infrastructure related projects.
Leading a team of engineers with responsibility for delivering projects, managing performance and developing competency.

The Senior Civil Engineer will have the opportunity to progress their career within Fingleton White to be involved in the various business sectors and to provide experience across a wide range of projects.

The location for this role will be in our Dublin office, however we will also consider applications for our Portlaoise and Galway offices.

Requirements:

The Candidate….

The ideal candidate will have:

Civil Engineering degree (Honors bachelor’s degree or higher).
7+ years post-graduate and relevant design experience. CEng would be beneficial but not essential.
Understanding and experience with Eurocodes, Irish Building Regulations, and local authority planning standards.
Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Good academic record
Full clean driving license and own transport required
Fluent written and spoken English is essential
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team
