Role Summary
We are seeking a reliable and practical Maintenance & General Operative to support the day-to-day upkeep of our manufacturing facility in Rathcoole. You will be responsible for carrying out general maintenance, repair and improvement works across the site, ensuring that buildings, equipment and work areas are safe, functional and well-maintained. When maintenance requirements are reduced, you will support the Production and Warehouse teams with General Operative duties as directed.

Roles and Responsibilities
Maintenance Duties
- Carry out routine maintenance and repair work throughout the building (factory and offices).
- Perform minor repairs such as painting, carpentry, plumbing and basic electrical tasks (within competency and company procedures).
- Repair and replace fixtures, fittings, locks, shelving, flooring and other infrastructure as required.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance tasks before they become problems.
- Assemble, install and move equipment, furniture, shelving and workstations.
- Maintain external areas including walkways, fences, gates and general upkeep.
- Liaise with external contractors and assist with site access and supervision when required.
- Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely, in line with company health and safety policies.
- Maintain records of completed maintenance works and report outstanding issues to management.
- Ensure tools, equipment and supplies are kept in good condition and appropriately stored.
General Operative/ Warehouse support Duties:
- Assist with finishing and packing products.
- Provide support in assembling electrical panels when needed.
- Carry out assembly and sub-assembly of mechanical and electrical components.
- Assist with picking, packing and preparing goods for dispatch.
- Support the Warehouse team with loading and unloading deliveries.
- Move materials and stock throughout the facility.
- Complete quality checks and follow all quality control procedures set by the company.
- Accurately complete system updates and documentation in a timely manner.
Health and Safety Compliance:
- Comply with all company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Model and promote safe and tidy work environment, to ensure Health & Safety and environmental guidelines are adhered to at all times.
- Report hazards, accidents, near misses and unsafe conditions promptly.
General:
- Be curious, interested and willing to learn, so that you can assist with continual improvement.

Qualifications and Skills
- Previous experience in a handyman, maintenance, facilities or building services role, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
- Good practical skills across a wide range of maintenance disciplines.
- Proficient in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to regularly perform manual handling and physical tasks.
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Must have a good working knowledge of spoken and written English.
- Dependable, punctual and self-motivated.
- Strong work ethic and excellent attention to detail, taking pride in your work.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Team player with a flexible attitude, willing to help other teams as required.
- Manual handling, Safe Pass and Forklift training would be a benefit, but will be provided.
- Eligible to work in Ireland (with current valid work permit if needed).
Pay: €16.00-€22.00 per hour
