BMS Design Engineer — Sygma Automation
Location: North West of Ireland
Sygma Automation is a growing building management systems company, and we're looking for a BMS Design Engineer to join our team. In this role, you'll design building management systems and produce detailed schematics using SEE Electrical, working closely with senior design engineers and project managers to deliver projects from concept through to handover.
What You'll Do
- Create and edit detailed BMS schematics using CAD software, ensuring accuracy and consistency across projects.
- Work alongside consultants, project managers, and senior engineers to translate project requirements into clear, buildable designs.
- Develop design documentation including equipment schedules, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
- Review and revise drawings throughout the project lifecycle, incorporating feedback and design changes.
- Build familiarity with BMS programming software and how it integrates with building controls.
- Prepare handover documentation at project completion.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 3 years' experience in the BMS industry.
- A degree or certification in CAD design, electrical engineering, or a related discipline — or equivalent practical experience that demonstrates strong technical aptitude.
- Exposure to building services, HVAC, electrical systems, or BMS concepts is a strong advantage, though not essential.
- Proficiency in SEE Electrical is a plus; confidence learning new software tools is more important.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to producing accurate drawings and documentation.
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Clear communication skills — you'll be collaborating across teams regularly.
What We Offer
- Full training for the right candidate, including on SEE Electrical and BMS-specific tools.
- Competitive salary within industry based on experience.
- A genuine path for career progression based on your performance and interests.
- The chance to contribute directly to a growing company where your work has visible impact.
