Across its brands, Glennon Brothers supplies a wide range of timber products to the Irish and UK markets, serving the construction, pallet wood and fencing industries. The Group also manufactures timber frame homes and engineered roof trusses for the housebuilding sector and operates several combined heat and power (CHP) and wood pellet manufacturing facilities.

Following the acquisition of Pontrilas in January 2026, the Group has significantly increased its turnover and expanded its workforce to over 1,400 colleagues. This growth has been driven by a strong commitment to its people, a customer‑focused service ethos, and continued investment in advanced technology and operational capability. Glennon Brothers operates a multi‑site footprint across Longford, Fermoy, Enniskillen, Troon, Irvine, Windymains and Invergordon, providing a diverse and collaborative working environment across its Group brands and functions.

Principal Objective

Reporting to the Design Manager, the Timber Frame Designer is responsible for the preparation and coordination of design drawings and technical information for timber frame projects, ensuring accuracy, quality and alignment with client and manufacturing requirements.

The role plays a key part in supporting project delivery from design through to production, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and in line with agreed specifications.

Knowledge & Experience

– Experience in timber frame, light gauge steel or modular construction design (preferred 3+ years).

– Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software.

– Strong understanding of architectural and engineering drawings.

– Knowledge of digital project delivery processes is desirable.

– Experience developing drawings for new and existing projects.

– Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.

– Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with a high level of accuracy.

– Ability to manage workload effectively in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

– Strong communication skills with the ability to work across multiple teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

– Prepare and develop timber frame design drawings and technical information in line with project requirements.

– Manage design programmes to ensure deliverables are aligned with project timelines and contractual commitments.

– Support the estimating team by providing technical input and value engineering at tender stage.

– Work closely with Production to ensure designs are suitable for manufacture and aligned with operational requirements.

– Liaise with clients, design teams and external consultants on technical queries and project coordination.

– Support site teams by responding to design-related queries during project delivery.

– Maintain and manage accurate design documentation and revisions.

– Collaborate with the wider design team to meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality outputs.

– Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and standards.

– Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders and customers.
