The Security Operations Analyst delivers high-quality security monitoring and incident response support to customers. The role is designed for motivated individuals who can manage multiple alerts and investigations in a fast-paced environment while continuing to learn and adapt to evolving security procedures and threats.
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting and securing Microsoft Cloud environments, with knowledge of endpoint, server, and network security technologies. This includes Microsoft 365 security, XDR, identity and access management, firewalls, and virtualised infrastructure. The role monitors alerts, investigates low and medium severity incidents, and triages high and critical alerts before escalation. Experience with data protection, backup, replication, and disaster recovery is advantageous.
This role sits within the Security Operations (SecOps) Team in the Service Centre Department of Viatel Digital Services. It requires 23 years experience with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 security, XDR technologies, and security monitoring platforms, plus a basic understanding of frameworks such as NIS2. Candidates should show a commitment to developing skills in cyber security, threat detection and response, automation, and AI-driven security capabilities.

A minimum of 23 years experience in IT support, security operations, infrastructure support, cloud administration, or a related technical role in ICT Managed Services (MSP).
Technical Requirements & Experience
M365 Defender Suite, Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams
Firewalls, VPNs, and network security controls (FortiGate, SonicWALL, Sophos)
Microsoft certifications in M365, Azure, Security (e.g. SC-900, SC-200, AZ-900, MS-900).
Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards (e.g. NIS2, ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, NIST, CIS Controls).
