About the Position
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on construction tradesperson to join our residential construction team.
Working under the direction of the Working Foreman, you will contribute to the delivery of renovation, extension and retrofit projects across the greater Dublin area.
This position is suited to someone with broad, practical construction experience who can work independently, maintain a high standard of workmanship and support the efficient progress of a residential building project.
This is not an apprenticeship, entry-level or general labouring position.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete general carpentry, first-fix and second-fix works appropriate to your experience.
- Carry out plasterboarding, insulation and associated preparation works.
- Assist with residential extensions, renovations and refurbishment works across multiple stages of construction.
- Carry out or assist with blockwork, roofing, window installation and general building works where required.
- Complete finishing works, repairs and snagging to a high standard.
- Read and follow drawings, specifications and site instructions.
- Work closely with the Working Foreman and other trades to maintain project progress.
- Assist with demolition, strip-out, site setup and deliveries as part of the wider construction programme.
- Maintain a safe, organised and professional working environment.
- Work respectfully in clients’ homes and uphold BuildTech’s site standards.
- Use smartphones, email and digital construction management systems to support site communication and record keeping.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum five years’ hands-on experience in residential construction, renovations or extensions; seven or more years preferred.
- Strong practical experience across more than one construction trade or discipline.
- Ability to complete work independently and to a high standard.
- Experience working on residential renovations, extensions or retrofit projects.
- Competent and safe in the use of power tools and construction equipment.
- Ability to read drawings and follow project specifications.
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude.
- Comfortable using smartphones, email and construction management applications.
- Full driving licence.
- Valid Safe Pass.
- Valid Manual Handling certificate.
- Abrasive Wheels certificate.
- Authorisation to work in Ireland.
A recognised trade qualification is an advantage, but candidates with substantial, demonstrable residential construction experience will also be considered.
Experience using Buildertrend or similar construction management software would be an advantage.
Salary and Benefits
- Salary: €50,000–€60,000 per year, depending on experience.
