Electrical Discipline Lead
Position summary: Arcadis is seeking for a proven Electrical Discipline Lead to work with our multiple world class advanced technology clients. This individual will be responsible for working on large scale design projects from high density datacentres to nanotechnology manufacturing facilities. The successful candidate will manage and direct junior staff, prepare proposals work with other Lead Engineers to develop designs, details, and specification standards, and mentor junior staff regarding technical development.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Global Electrical Subject‑Matter Expert (SME) for Arcadis, leading and controlling electrical system design strategy across advanced technology projects.
- Direct and oversee engineering tasks performed by electrical team members for MV/LV power distribution, cleanroom electrical systems, process/manufacturing facilities, data centres, and institutional facilities.
- Develop scopes of work for electrical design based on preliminary reviews, URS documentation, and client engagement.
- Prepare engineering studies, conceptual designs, and schematic layouts for new electrical systems; analyse and optimise existing systems.
- Identify emerging trends in semiconductor and data centre electrical design; maintain awareness of new technologies, codes, and industry developments.
- Contribute to the development of group standards, procedures, knowledge management systems, and best‑practice design methodologies.
- Support business development through proposal preparation, man‑hour estimating, and senior‑level client presentations.
- Take responsible charge of electrical design deliverables, ensuring technical accuracy, completeness, and quality of construction documentation.
- Analyse and design complex building electrical systems, including:
- Medium‑ and low‑voltage power distribution
- Lighting, grounding, bonding, and process heating systems
- Standby generation, UPS systems, and critical power infrastructure
- Lead electrical input into site selection and due‑diligence activities.
- Exercise sound engineering judgement in developing design alternatives and ensuring quality outcomes.
- Perform field activities, including construction observation and verification of electrical installations.
- Review construction submittals for compliance with design intent and contract documents.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to electrical engineers and designers.
- Use computer‑assisted engineering and design tools to prepare electrical design documents.
- Direct the use of EasyPower / SKM Power Tools for system modelling, optimisation, and troubleshooting.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Minimum 8+ Years of experience in the design of mechanical systems in high technology facilities
