The Role
The
Python ETL Developer / Data Engineer plays a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data integration solutions that support business reporting, analytics, and operational processes. This role focuses on building robust ETL pipelines using Python and SQL to extract, transform, validate, and load data from a wide range of structured and semi-structured sources including databases, files, APIs, and web-based sources.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing efficient data processing workflows using Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, PyODBC, and SQLite while ensuring data quality, integrity, and performance. The role requires strong database knowledge and hands-on experience working with relational database platforms such as SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL.
The position involves collaborating with business stakeholders, architects, and technical teams to understand data requirements and deliver reliable data solutions. The candidate will also support testing, deployment, issue resolution, and continuous improvement of data pipelines while following industry best practices for coding, version control, and data engineering.

Your responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and optimize ETL pipelines using Python and SQL.

Extract data from multiple sources including CSV, Excel, JSON, XML, APIs, web URLs, and relational databases.

Perform data cleansing, validation, transformation, enrichment, aggregation, and filtering using Python Pandas and related libraries.

Load processed data into relational databases and output formats such as CSV, Excel, and JSON.

Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database scripts to support data integration and reporting requirements.

Implement logging, exception handling, reconciliation processes, and data quality checks within ETL solutions.

Support unit testing, system testing, deployment activities, and production issue resolution.

Collaborate with business users, architects, and technical teams to understand and implement data requirements.

Ensure adherence to coding standards, data governance principles, and best practices for data engineering.

Utilize Git/GitHub for source control and version management.

Contribute to performance tuning and continuous improvement of data processing solutions.
Your Profile
Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
- 5–8 years of experience in Data Engineering, ETL Development, or related data integration roles.

Strong hands-on experience with Python 3.x.

Proficiency in Python libraries including Pandas, NumPy, PyODBC, and SQLite.

Strong SQL skills with experience in query optimization and database development.

Experience in designing, developing, and supporting ETL/Data Ingestion solutions.

Hands-on experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL.

Strong understanding of data cleansing, transformation, validation, and reconciliation techniques.

Good knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts and data integration best practices.

Experience using Git/GitHub for source code management.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Experience working in Agile development environments.
Preferred Skills-
Experience with Data Warehousing and Dimensional Modeling concepts.

Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

Experience with performance tuning and optimization of data processing solutions.

BFSI domain experience preferred.

Exposure to cloud-based data platforms and modern data engineering practices is an advantage.
