About the role:
The Principal Data Analyst - BI & Reporting will lead reporting infrastructure, dashboard development, data visualization, and business intelligence capabilities supporting the Optum Health Performance Management function. This role is responsible for transforming analytical outputs into scalable, governance-ready reporting solutions and ensuring stakeholders have access to timely, accurate, and actionable information.

Primary Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain enterprise dashboards and business intelligence solutions

Build and support executive reporting, scorecards, and management reporting frameworks
-
Develop and maintain reporting pipelines and automated reporting processes

Translate business and analytical requirements into scalable reporting solutions
-
Build and maintain provider, market, operational, and executive reporting dashboards
-
Develop data models, reporting structures, and visualization frameworks that support business objectives
-
Ensure reporting accuracy, consistency, and data quality across all reporting products
-
Build and maintain automated data refresh and reporting processes
-
Support governance reporting requirements and executive performance reporting
-
Develop reporting infrastructure that supports scalable and repeatable analytics delivery

Collaborate with analytics, technology, and data engineering teams to deliver enterprise reporting solutions

Support reporting modernization initiatives and transition manual processes to automated reporting
-
Manage reporting schedules and ensure timely delivery of reporting outputs

Maintain documentation, reporting standards, and data lineage

Serve as a key technical partner for business intelligence and reporting requirements

Required Qualifications:

Proven extensive experience in Business Intelligence, reporting, analytics, or data visualization

Demonstrated advanced proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent business intelligence platforms

Demonstrated solid SQL and data querying capabilities

Proven experience developing dashboards and executive reporting solutions
-
Proven experience working with large and complex datasets and reporting environments

Proven experience translating business requirements into reporting and visualization solutions

Demonstrated solid stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Proven experience developing automated reporting and business intelligence solutions

Proven experience supporting performance measurement and operational reporting initiatives
Preferred Qualifications:

Proven experience in healthcare analytics

Proven experience supporting enterprise performance management or reporting organizations

Demonstrated knowledge of reporting architecture, data pipelines, and reporting infrastructure

Proven experience with executive-level reporting and governance reporting

Proven experience working within complex, matrixed organizations

Proven experience supporting operational, financial, and performance management reporting

Proven experience with data modeling, reporting automation, and business intelligence platform administration
