Full job description

Principle Objective

Reporting to the Group Head of Finance, the Group Head of Information Systems is the senior technology leader accountable for defining and executing the Group’s IS/IT strategy across Ireland and the UK. The role ensures that technology platforms, infrastructure, data, cyber security and service delivery capabilities effectively support operational performance, business growth, integration activity and future transformation. The position leads internal IT teams and external partners, provides strategic guidance to the Senior Leadership Team, and ensures strong governance, resilience and value delivery from technology investment. This is a Group‑wide leadership role with regular travel across sites and visible engagement with operational, commercial and functional leaders. The role plays a critical leadership role in supporting acquisition integration, ensuring technology, data, security and systems are effectively aligned and embedded into the Group operating model following M&A activity.

Knowledge & Experience

– Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior IS/IT leadership role within a multi‑site or complex organisation. Proven experience developing and delivering enterprise‑level IS/IT strategies aligned to business objectives.

– Strong background in infrastructure, applications, cloud solutions and cyber security.

– Experience leading or sponsoring ERP implementations, upgrades or major system integrations in a multi‑site or complex organisation.

– Strong understanding of data integrity, reporting and process standardisation enabled through ERP platforms. Experience leading systems integration, ERP and digital transformation initiatives.

– Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, suppliers and technology risk. Strong understanding of business operations, finance and data‑driven decision‑making.

– A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience is desirable.

Key Responsibilities

– Develop, own and continuously evolve the Group IS/IT strategy, aligned to business priorities, growth plans and operational requirements.

– Ensure the availability, performance and security of all technology platforms, infrastructure, applications and data environments. Lead cyber security, disaster recovery and business continuity planning across the Group.

– Provide strategic insight and recommendations to the Senior Leadership Team and Board on technology investment, risk and opportunity. Lead and develop internal IS teams, building capability, engagement and succession strength.

– Establish strong governance, service management and performance reporting across IS/IT delivery.

– Own the strategy, governance and ongoing optimisation of the Group’s ERP and core enterprise systems, ensuring they support operational performance, financial control, reporting accuracy and scalability across all sites.

– Lead ERP roadmap planning, upgrades and integrations, working closely with Operations, Finance and HR to ensure systems enable standardisation, efficiency and data‑led decision making.

– Lead the IS/IT aspects of acquisition due diligence and post‑acquisition integration, including systems assessment, data migration, cyber risk evaluation and transition planning, in partnership with Finance, Operations and HR.

– Partner with Operations, Finance, HR and Commercial teams to enable efficiency, integration and continuous improvement. Manage relationships with external technology partners, vendors and managed service providers.

– Ensure disciplined budget management and value realisation from technology spend.
