We are seeking applications from committed and caring Healthcare Assistants / Personal Assistants who are interested in joining our team in the below location

Ballymun, Dublin 11

The position on offer is Part time

Work Schedule and Hours

Wednesday 09:00 -13:30

Thursday 09:00 -13:30

Friday 09:00 -13:30

Saturday 09:00 – 13:00
Sunday 09:00 – 13:00

The purpose of this role is to provide person-cantered support to enable a man with a disability to live as independently as possible. This may include personal care, domestic assistance, tailored to the person’s specific needs as outlined in their individual service agreement.

Key Relationships

You will collaborate with the person availing of our services and their family, fellow assistants (if applicable), and relevant Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) staff, including service coordinators and administrative teams.

Duties and Responsibilities

Participate in mandatory training provided by IWA, including manual handling and safeguarding

Assist with personal care tasks, including showering, grooming, dressing, toileting, and transfers using appropriate equipment (e.g., hoist).

Be available for occasional additional hours to cover shifts during holidays, sick leave, or unforeseen circumstances.

Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate discretion in all interactions with the individual and their family.

Person Specification

Essential Requirements:

Reliable, flexible, and committed to delivering high-quality support.

Fluency in English (spoken and written).

Legal right to work in Ireland

Willingness to undergo Garda vetting and complete mandatory training before commencing work.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

Experience working with individuals with disabilities.

Behaviours and Competencies

Person-centered approach with a high level of empathy and discretion.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and schedules.

Good organizational and time-management skills.

The position offers a flexible schedule based on the member’s needs. This may include daytime, evening, weekend, and occasional holiday shifts. Specific hours and days will be outlined in the service agreement.

Remuneration and Benefits

Starting rate: €16.22- €18.03 per hour (depending on experience).

Premium rates for antisocial hours, Sundays, and public holidays.

Mileage reimbursement for inter-member travel.

Sick pay scheme, maternity/paternity pay, and access to further education support.
