Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Director to lead our European ETF business within Citi’s Investor Services division in Dublin or London. This pivotal role involves overseeing strategic projects and the overall build-out of our European ETF business with a high degree of visibility in the market.
The successful candidate will be a market leader responsible for developing and implementing strategies that enhance our Investor Services ETF offering in Europe, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and fostering strong client relationships. This role requires a proven leader with deep expertise in financial services, particularly within the ETF sector, and a strong understanding of the European ETF market. Crucially, the Director will be instrumental in integrating advanced data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and modernized operating models to drive efficiency, innovation, and enhanced client solutions. The role also demands a commitment to cultivating and leveraging skills of the future within the team, adapting to the rapidly evolving financial technology landscape.
What you'll be doing:
Lead and manage critical ETF programs and projects within Investor Services, ensuring timely and successful delivery through agile and data-driven methodologies.
Develop and execute strategic plans to expand market share and enhance product capabilities within Investor Services, leveraging AI for market insights, risk management, and personalized client solutions.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their needs and leveraging data-driven insights to ensure exceptional client satisfaction and retention.
Work collaboratively with sales on new business initiatives, utilizing predictive analytics to identify growth opportunities and optimize client engagement strategies.
Design and implement cutting-edge operating models for the European ETF servicing platform, focusing on automation, scalability, and digital transformation to enhance operational efficiency and resilience.
Ensure all activities adhere to internal policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements, incorporating data governance into all processes.
Collaborate with global teams to leverage best practices and drive consistent service delivery across regions, promoting the adoption of future-proof technologies and approaches.
Identify and mitigate risks associated with Investor Services operations and projects, employing advanced data analytics for proactive risk identification and management.
Represent Citi at industry events and with regulatory bodies as required, articulating Citi's vision for a data and our European ETF business.
Champion the development of skills of the future within the team, including data science, AI literacy, cloud proficiency, and agile development practices.
What we'll need from you:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related quantitative field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Several years of experience in financial services, with a significant portion in a leadership role within the ETF sector.
Strong ETF background including extensive experience developing European ETF Servicing platforms and a proven track record in digital transformation initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and drive strategic initiatives, with a strong emphasis on data-driven decision-making and the adoption of new technologies.
In-depth knowledge of financial markets, investment products, and regulatory frameworks relevant to European ETFs
Proven track record of building and maintaining client relationships, leveraging data analytics to understand client needs and deliver innovative solutions.
Ability to implement and optimize modern operating models (e.g., agile, DevOps) within a financial services context.
Experience in fostering a culture of continuous learning and developing skills of the future (e.g., data science, AI engineering, cloud architecture) within a team.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, embracing technological change and innovation.
