About the role:
Due to our expanding portfolio of projects nationally, we have exciting opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team. Providing services ranging from feasibility studies to detailed designs through construction and completion of large national infrastructure projects. The candidate can expect to work on a wide variety of projects in both the public and private sectors. Working directly with a Civils Director you will be responsible for all aspects of client management, financial/commercial management, team leadership/growth.

Reporting to a Civil Director, the ideal candidate, pending experience, will display the following key traits and skills:
Ability to Lead manage multiple projects
Strong financial management skills and commercial awareness.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
An understanding of the fundamentals of civil engineering works.
Strong background in the design principles set out in national / local authority standards and technical guidance documents such as GDSDS, IW CoP, DMURS, Cycle Design Manual, DMRB, and TII Publications etc.
Experience in leading multi-disciplinary design team co-ordination and workflow. Be able to present design solutions effectively holistically internally plus within a wider project team.
Excellent planning and organisational skills.
Experience in contract documents for Public Works Contracts and participation in the administration of contracts.
An eye for opportunities and develop further workstreams.
Proven ability to mentor and develop Junior Engineer.
Desired qualifications and requirements:
Minimum 2 to 5 years civil engineering experience.
Strong commercial and risk management background.
Minimum Level 8 Civil Engineering Degree (Hons) and ideally achieved Chartered status with Engineers Ireland or equivalent.
Customer-focused with growing client relationship management skills.
Ability to mentor staff in developing their own technical expertise.
Excellent planning and organisational skills.
A current driver’s licence is desirable
