About the Role
This role works within the global law firm's Business Development team to provide comprehensive business development support to our Dublin office. The team works closely with partners and fee earners to harness relationships and identify new business opportunities to grow the firm's work and client base. Taking an integrated approach to business development, the team brings together regional and practice group expertise to maintain, grow and support client relationships and law firm referral relationships. Primary responsibilities include:

Working with the BD Manager, wider team and practice groups, to support the development and implementation of BD plans and budgets

Support the global BD & Marketing team and partners to translate practice group goals into specific BD tasks

Support on the identification and pursuit of opportunities to develop new and existing clients

Support and execute on BD trips, ensuring that the purpose and objectives of those trips are scoped and agreed, the team is fully briefed with target lists and briefing notes, and follow-up actions are captured in the CRM system and implemented

Support the BD Manager to prepare high-quality pitch materials, proposals, Requests for Proposals, credentials statements and client-facing presentations, and maintain a repository of client pitches and RFPs, working with partners, and wider team as required

Conduct market, client and competitor research and analysis to support strategic planning, client conversations and pursuit activity, and follow through on opportunities identified

Support the co-ordination of legal directory and award submissions, including project management and drafting support, and help partners prepare for interviews with legal directory researchers

Maintain and improve the quality of client and contact data within the firm’s CRM system, and use CRM reporting and other internal BD technologies and databases for planning, targeting, tracking and measurement

Track and report on business development activities, outcomes and pipeline developments, helping to demonstrate return on investment where possible, and prepare updates for relevant stakeholders

Support the wider Business Development team on projects, initiatives and process improvements across the firm as required
EXPERIENCE
What You Bring
In addition to high ethical standards, professional judgement and autonomy, the ideal candidate will have:

A degree or professional qualification in Marketing, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience; a relevant postgraduate qualification is preferred

Approximately two years' experience) in a business development and/or marketing role, ideally gained in Legal, professional services, financial services or a similarly fast-paced B2B environment

Strong knowledge of the financial services industry and the global legal market, and a sound understanding of how business development operates within a partnership or professional services environment
-
Experience of operating in a matrix organisation, with the ability to work to deadlines, manage multiple projects and priorities, and deliver under pressure
-
Highly proficient with InterAction or similar CRM systems, including maximising data value through data management, reporting, contact intelligence and CRM best practices
-
Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to work with and influence stakeholders at all levels

A team player able to build relationships within the Business Development & Marketing team locally, regionally and globally

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong drafting and proof-reading ability

Good research and analytical skills, with the ability to translate market and client information into practical business development actions

A commercial mindset, with an interest in market trends, client needs and opportunity development

Highly proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Highly organised and detail-focused, with strong project, time management and administrative skills, and the ability to handle a consistent and varied workload across multiple projects
