ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced Data Scientist to support research and development initiatives through advanced data analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The Advanced Engineer- Data Scientist will analyze complex industrial and sensor-based data, develop analytical platforms and AI-driven solutions, and translate data insights into practical business strategies that improve product performance and operational decision-making. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise, commercial understanding, and the ability to independently manage digital and AI projects from concept through to implementation.
YOUR ROLE AND IMPACT

Conduct advanced data analysis, data mining, and Knowledge Discovery in Data (KDD) to support R&D decision-making.

Develop analytical platforms, libraries, and plugins for monitoring machine and sensor data and calculating KPIs.

Design, develop, and implement AI/ML models, Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs), and prototypes.

Lead business requirement definition and technical documentation for digital and AI solutions.

Oversee testing, integration, and deployment of AI models into business applications and processes.

Manage projects and collaborate with internal teams, IT suppliers, and external technology partners.

Evaluate AI technology providers to ensure alignment with strategic and operational standards.
YOUR ELIGIBILITY

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience as a Data Scientist, Data Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, or in a similar data-focused role.
- Proven experience in advanced data analysis, data mining, machine learning, and AI-driven solution development.

Practical exposure to industrial, manufacturing, machine-generated, IoT, or sensor-based data.
- Experience in developing Proofs of Concept, prototypes, analytical platforms, or production-ready data solutions.
- Ability to translate business and R&D requirements into practical technical solutions and actionable insights.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage data and AI projects from requirement gathering through testing, deployment, and completion.
- Experience within a multinational, manufacturing, engineering, or R&D environment will be an added advantage.
ESSENTIAL KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Programming Languages: Advanced proficiency in Python is mandatory; knowledge of Java, C, C#, or MATLAB will be an advantage.
- Machine Learning Frameworks: Practical experience with Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch for developing and deploying AI and machine-learning models.
- Data Analytics Tools: Strong expertise in Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn, and Plotly Dash for data processing, analysis, and visualization.
- Databases and Web Applications: Experience with SQL Server, SQLite, InfluxDB, MongoDB, FastAPI, and Flask.
- Professional Competencies: Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, communication, project coordination, and stakeholder-management skills.
