Key Responsibilities of the Role:
Training Programme Development & Delivery
- Develop, coordinate, and maintain the annual Fire Protection training and competency programme aligned to accreditation, certification, and regulatory requirements.
- Design and roll out structured training pathways for auditors, inspectors, technical staff, and certified installer organisations.
- Coordinate the delivery of internal and external training events, including classroom, on-site, and digital learning formats.
- Ensure all training content is aligned with international fire protection standards (VdS, NFPA, EN, DIN, FM Global, LPC) and updated to reflect revisions.
Competency & Certification Management
- Maintain individual competency records, certification status, and CPD logs for all technical personnel and certified organisations.
- Track expiry dates, renewals, and re-certification requirements; issue timely reminders and coordinate refresher training.
- Support the Technical Assurance & Accreditation Manager in verifying competency evidence as part of accreditation audits.
- Administer assessment, examination, and qualification processes in line with certification scheme rules.
Programme Coordination & Scheduling
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate the training calendar in alignment with audit, inspection, and project delivery programmes.
- Liaise with internal teams, external trainers, accreditation bodies, and certification authorities to secure resources, venues, and materials.
- Manage training logistics including attendee registration, joining instructions, materials, evaluations, and post-training follow-up.
Monitor training budgets, purchase orders, and supplier performance.

Compliance, Documentation & Records Management
- Maintain accurate, audit-ready training and competency records within Mercury's document control and certification systems.
- Ensure all training documentation (matrices, attendance registers, certificates, evaluations) is version-controlled and accessible for internal and external audits.
- Support preparation of evidence packs for accreditation bodies (e.g. VdS ) and client audits.
- Maintain the training section of the Fire Protection Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001 and accreditation scheme requirements.
Co-Ordinate Estimation – Operation Handover
Co-ordinate and Standardized project execution methodology and structured handover from estimation to operations to ensure clear path defined roles & responsibilities and integration across project lifecycle stages (tender design operations
Continuous Improvement
- Analyse training feedback, assessment results, and audit findings to identify gaps and drive improvements in programme content and delivery.
- Benchmark training practices against industry standards and certification scheme requirements.
- Support the Technical Assurance & Accreditation Manager in embedding a culture of competence, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Contribute to lessons-learned reviews and corrective/preventive action plans relating to competency findings.
Stakeholder & Client Engagement
- Act as the primary point of contact for training-related queries from internal teams, certified organisations, accreditation bodies, and clients.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with external training providers, technical experts, and regulatory bodies.
- Provide professional, client-ready communications regarding training programmes, schedules, and certification pathways.
- Represent the Fire Protection Business Unit at relevant training, certification, and industry forums.
Reporting & Governance
- Produce structured monthly and quarterly reports on training KPIs, competency status, programme completion rates, and outstanding actions.
- Highlight compliance risks, training gaps, and improvement opportunities to the Technical Assurance & Accreditation Manager.
- Support governance reviews, management system audits, and accreditation surveillance visits with timely, accurate data.

- Strong organisational, planning, and programme coordination skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to engage at all levels including clients and accreditation bodies.
- High attention to detail and a structured, process-driven approach to documentation and records management.
- Working knowledge of accreditation, certification, and quality management frameworks (ISO 9001, ISO 17020, ISO 17024, VdS, NFPA, EN, DIN).
- Proficiency in digital tools and learning platforms (MS 365, SharePoint, Power BI, LMS systems, Autodesk Construction Cloud or equivalent).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across international projects and time zones.
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a training coordination, quality, or technical administration role, ideally within Construction, Fire Protection, or a regulated/certified industry.
- Previous experience supporting accreditation, certification, or audit programmes.
- Third-level qualification in Engineering, Quality, Training & Development, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience managing training records, competency matrices, and CPD systems.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams).
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Travel within Europe will be required for this position.
Desirable Criteria:
- Recognised qualification in Training & Development (e.g. CIPD, QQI Level 6 Train the Trainer, or equivalent).
- Working knowledge of Fire Protection standards (VdS, NFPA, EN 12845, DIN, FM Global, LPC).
- Experience supporting ISO 17020 / ISO 17024 accredited inspection or certification bodies.
- Additional European language an advantage.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital competency platforms.
- Exposure to international project delivery environments.
