The Outsourced Technical Services (OTS) Department at PM Group partners with global industry leaders across a range of sectors to provide skilled professionals for both current and long-term business needs. We are currently seeking a Process Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative OTS team, supporting a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing client based in Waterford.

The Process Operations Engineer will play a key role in supporting manufacturing operations, ensuring processes are operating safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with Operations, Process Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Technical Services teams to drive process performance, troubleshoot operational issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

This is a site-based position that will involve significant interaction with manufacturing teams and support of day-to-day operations within a GMP-regulated environment.

Provide day-to-day technical support to manufacturing operations.
Monitor process performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
Lead investigations into process deviations, non-conformances, and manufacturing issues.
Support manufacturing campaigns to ensure operational readiness and successful execution.
Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Operational Excellence methodologies.
Identify process bottlenecks and propose solutions to improve throughput and efficiency.
Analyse process data and trends to optimize manufacturing performance.
Support yield improvement and waste reduction programs.
Support process validation activities, including protocol generation, execution, and reporting.
Participate in new product introductions and technology transfer projects.
Assist in process characterization and process verification activities.
Collaborate with validation and quality teams to ensure successful implementation of process changes.
Support commissioning, qualification, and validation of manufacturing equipment.
Work with maintenance and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability.
Participate in FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ, and PQ activities where required.
Review equipment performance data and recommend improvements.
Promote a strong safety culture throughout manufacturing operations.
Ensure compliance with all EHS policies and procedures.

Degree qualification in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Science, or a related discipline.
Experience supporting manufacturing operations within a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other regulated process industry.
Strong understanding of process operations, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Knowledge of GMP requirements and pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
