Senior Retail Sales Assistant, Gary's Pet World, Letterkenny

Location: Letterkenny, Co. Donegal

Job Type: Full-Time (includes 2 weekends per month on a rota basis)

Gary's Pet World is one of the busiest pet shops in the northwest, and our team genuinely loves what they do. We sell a wide range of quality products for every kind of pet, and locals come to us because they trust our advice. We are now looking for an experienced retail assistant who is ready to roll up their sleeves and become a real part of the team.

The Role

This is a hands on shop floor job where you will make a real difference to how the store runs. You will be the friendly face customers see when they walk in, the person who knows where everything is, and a key part of keeping the shop looking its best. It is active, varied work, and the days go quickly.

Key Responsibilities

Serve customers and give practical, knowledgeable advice on products across all departments. Keep the shop floor clean, tidy, and well stocked. Take in, check, and shelve stock deliveries, including lifting heavy bags of pet food and substrate up to 25kg on a regular basis. Keep displays looking good and make sure pricing and labels are correct. Work the till and handle customer payments accurately. Help with stock takes and inventory when needed. Pitch in with general store duties wherever the team needs a hand.

What We Are Looking For

We want someone who is genuinely interested in animals and pet care, and who enjoys helping people. You should be physically fit, as you will regularly lift bags and boxes up to 25kg. You need to be friendly and confident with customers, reliable, and good with timekeeping. You must be available to work 2 out of every 4 weekends on a rota. Previous retail experience is essential. Above all, we are looking for someone who wants to learn our range and grow with the shop.
