Role Profile

We have an exciting opportunity in the Grant Governance Team/Unit in the Corporate Services Directorate.

The Corporate Services Directorate is responsible for the overall governance of the SEAI and includes Finance, Inspections, Governance and Procurement, Legal, Marketing and Communications, HR & OD and ICT.

The Grant Governance Team plays a key role in the organisation by providing administrative and governance support for the life cycle of SEAI's demand led Grant Programmes.

Working as part of the Corporate Services Directorate, the Programme Executive - Grant Governance will be responsible for issuing grant contracts, reviewing payment claims and providing grant compliance support.

Reporting to the Grant Governance Manager, the role is a key part in assisting the delivery of SEAI's grant programme team's objectives and targets.

The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic and innovative team who are committed to the high-quality delivery of SEAI's goals.

Essential Requirements

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

A degree (Level 8 on NFQ or greater) in Business, Finance or a relevant discipline.
A minimum of three years directly relevant experience working in grant programme governance and finance or grant administration with a strong focus on governance and finance.
Experience of ensuring compliance to financial controls and procedures.
Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team and managing projects involving a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
Experience working with grant management IT systems (e.g. Smart Simple).
Strong communication (written and verbal) skills, including report writing, presenting and public speaking.

Desirable Requirements

Knowledge/ Experience of working in the Public Sector.
Previous experience of full life cycle grant funding schemes.
Understanding of research funding environment at national and international scale.
Proficiency in the Irish language.
Experience or knowledge of delivering positive customer experiences.

Eligibility to Work

The SEAI has a legal obligation to ensure that all employees are lawfully entitled to work in Ireland. To qualify, candidates must hold a valid visa on the date of application and where applicable to support a candidate's application, candidates must submit a valid work permit/visa confirming permission to work in Ireland when requested. Failure to submit the required evidence, and failure to hold a valid permit/visa during the period of the contract, will result in the application and/or contract of employment being rendered void.
