The Domain Architect — Incentives owns the architectural integrity of McKesson's Vendor and Customer Incentives technology landscape from strategy through execution. Embedded in the Incentives (EA) organization and aligned to the SAP S/4HANA transformation, this role enables incentive platforms spanning rebates, chargebacks, pricing, and financial settlements. This is McKesson's deepest technical expert in the Incentives domain — equally fluent in business process design, platform architecture, and executive-level stakeholder influence. The architect's decisions directly shape how billions in annual incentive flows are supported by the evolving technology estate.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own the full architectural lifecycle for the Incentives domain — from vision and strategy through conceptual design, logical blueprinting, roadmap development, and delivery-ready specifications covering vendor rebates, customer incentives, pricing, and financial settlements.
- Define, publish, and enforce Incentives domain standards; represent the domain in Architecture Review Boards; embed enterprise architecture principles across all Incentives technology initiatives.
- Lead high-impact projects, ensuring every process and system design decision is traceable to the Incentives architectural strategy and McKesson's broader enterprise objectives.
- Serve as the primary technical authority for Incentives solutions — guiding project teams, resolving architectural ambiguity, and making binding decisions on platform, integration, AI and data design.
- Bring deep platform fluency in Incentives technology — rebate/chargeback engines, settlement systems, pricing platforms, and downstream financial integrations — to accelerate delivery quality.
- Develop engineering and operations staff through structured mentoring, architecture coaching, and hands-on knowledge transfer of standards, patterns, and emerging Incentives-domain capabilities.
- Guarantee solution compliance with all applicable regulatory, security, privacy, and operational standards — including pharmaceutical trade obligations, government pricing requirements, and SOX controls.
- Drive continuous domain improvement through performance testing, total-cost-of-ownership analysis, and technology maturity assessments that sharpen the Incentives platform portfolio.
- Lead Incentives technology strategy at the deepest level of expertise — owning migration planning, integration architecture, and the long-term evolution of the domain's technical infrastructure.
- Partner across EA, Finance, Commercial, and Operations to ensure Incentives architecture remains tightly aligned with enterprise-wide programs.
Required Skills
AI/ML problem solving
- Examples of solving complex buy/sell, pricing, rebate, or commercial challenges using AI, ML, or advanced analytics.
- Demonstrated business outcomes rather than just technical implementation.
SAP expertise
- SAP S/4HANA.
- Bonus if SD/MM rebate and incentive management.
Vendor Incentives & Customer Rebates
- Deep process understanding.
- Ability to connect business requirements with SAP and reporting solutions.
Reporting & Analytics
- Power BI, Tableau, KPI frameworks, executive reporting.
- Data-driven decision making.
- 7+ years of progressive IT experience, including 5+ years in a domain or enterprise architecture role
- Solid understanding of SaaS-based enterprise platforms and solution architectures.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Unix/Linux shell scripting.
- Experience with data visualization and analytics tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
- Knowledge of modern cloud and data platforms, including Azure Data Lake and Databricks.
- Hands-on experience or strong exposure to implementing AI/ML solutions in enterprise environments.
- Exposure to cloud and streaming technologies such as Azure, Snowflake, and Kafka.
- Ability to learn, apply, and govern architectural principles across enterprise systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-team collaboration skills.
Preferred skills
- Direct SAP S/4HANA experience in SD/MM incentive/rebate management
- Hands-on expertise in Vendor/Customer Incentives processes and the technology platforms that support them
- TOGAF 9/10 or equivalent enterprise architecture certification
- Healthcare distribution or pharmaceutical supply chain domain expertise
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
