Our Burnfoot, Ireland team has set the benchmark for excellence in electrical switchgear solutions — delivering intelligent, integrated systems that empower our clients to manage power distribution efficiently and safely.
Our Testing Engineers travel regularly to test facilities. They plan and coordinate all Product Evaluation Schedules with the R&D Managers for Switchgear and Busbar, maintain detailed records of test results and up to date Product Standards.
Role Responsibilities
Record keeping & documentation; Creation of temperature rise reports. MS Word/Publisher.
Perform temperature rise testing and operate current injection units (full training provided).
Set up test apparatus for Switchgear, Busbar, and Tap-off Units.
Select appropriate cable and copper sizes in accordance with IEC61439 Tables 11 & 12.
Develop an understanding of temperature rise and terminal temperature limits based on Table 6 of IEC61439 and and the terminal temperature limits stated by device manufacturers such as ABB & Schneider.
Manage test connection parts in coordination with the Copper Department.
Create and maintain Datataker Record Sheets (Excel-based) and temperature rise reports (MS Word/Publisher).

Application of thermocouples
Ensure accurate record keeping, calibration certificates, and up-to-date training for all test equipment.
Qualifications
Ideally 3rd-level Engineering Qualification / Degree / HLA (or equivalent).
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher).
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.
Strong documentation and reporting skills.
An eye for detail - you will maintain calibration certs for all test equipment and ensure training is up to date.
Travel: 30% max however it fluctuates across Europe to our external testing facilities.
