Rosderra Irish Meats Group is the largest pork processing company in Ireland. We operate two state-of-the-art slaughtering and processing facilities at Edenderry, Co. Offaly and Roscrea, Co. Tipperary. In addition, we have a Cold store facility in Clara, Co. Offaly, a Pork-Curing facility in Jamestown Co. Leitrim, and a Cooked Meats facility in Stradone, Co. Cavan.
We are currently hiring for a Lab Technician for our Jamestown plants
We are looking for an individual who can support the Quality team
Specific Responsibilities include:
· Carry out routine Laboratory Testing and Sampling as per required Statutory and customer standards.
· Verify cleaning by visual inspection & microbiological swabbing
· Monitor quality & Product compliance.
· Carry out microbiological sampling & testing of meat samples & water
· Chemical verification checks & Environmental Swab Testing to monitor compliance.
· Collect meat samples for Chemical analysis testing at external labs and maintain the paperwork associated with this.
· Prep & Send out samples for external analysis and ensure associated paperwork has been sent.
· Complete product, calibration and temperature checks daily.
· Communicate with and report to customer requests for technical information.
· Compliance with regulatory standards, legislation and liaising with DAFM officials.
· Corrective & Preventative Action & Non-Conforming Product Management.
· Measuring adherence to Customer Specification.
· Implementation and maintenance of HACCP & hygiene requirements.
· Review Product and process development.
· Assist in the Management of the Food Safety & Quality Management System
· Compliance with regulatory standards, legislation and liaising with DAFM officials.
· The achievement and maintenance of the BRC standard, the Bord Bia MPQAS and retailer and customer standards in terms of an independent third party factory accreditation.
· Form part of LEAN function of the plant and complete 7s auditing and be part of teams involved of improvement of production areas.
· Participate and conduct Internal Audits
The successful candidate will possess the following attributes
· Food Science/ Food Technology degree or equivalent.
· Experience in laboratory testing desirable.
· Knowledge of Bord Bia, BRC, Regulatory and customer requirements desirable.
· Have a minimum of HACCP Level 5
· Quality focus with a drive to ensure standards are upheld
· Proficient IT skills & Good communication skills.
· Fluent English: Verbal & Written
Pay: €28,000.00-€30,000.00 per year
