This is a great opportunity to build a strong foundation in accounting and financial control within Wealth & Insurance. As a Financial Control Analyst, you'll play a hands on role in supporting accurate financial reporting, reconciliations and cash flow activities across New Ireland. You'll gain valuable exposure to month end close, financial controls and business performance, while being supported to develop your technical skills and grow your career in finance.
Please note this is a 3 year contract.
- Support month end and quarter end Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss reconciliations.
- Ensure accounting ledgers balance across core policyholder systems and bank accounts.
- Help lead cash flow by processing payment and collection files across multiple distribution channels.
- Identify, investigate and resolve reconciling items in line with Internal Financial Controls (IFC).
- Work with Finance, Actuarial, Business Operations, Bank of Ireland Financial Services and external auditors, including supporting the transition to SAP S/4HANA.
You are early in your accounting career and keen to learn through hands on experience. You enjoy working with numbers, spotting differences and resolving issues, and you take pride in accuracy and attention to detail. You're comfortable working independently, while also building positive working relationships with colleagues across different teams. You communicate clearly and are willing to ask questions to deepen your understanding of financial processes and controls.
Experience with the following will help you stand out but is not required to apply for this role:
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Exposure to financial reconciliations or control environments.
- Experience working with financial systems or change projects.
- Experience working in a financial control or accounting environment.
- Working towards an accounting qualification or a qualified Accounting Technician.
The Financial Reconciliation and Control team sits within the Financial Reporting and Control function in Wealth & Insurance. The team is responsible for ensuring the accurate processing of over €3.8 billion of customer premiums and claims across New Ireland. We play a key role in maintaining strong financial controls, supporting reporting accuracy and improving efficiency through timely resolution of reconciling items.
This is a hybrid role, based primarily at our Dublin office. We typically ask colleagues to spend a minimum of 8 days per month working in person to support collaboration and connection. Specific arrangements will be confirmed by your recruiter to ensure they meet the needs of the role and team.
