Job Specification: Kitchen Porter
Location: Midleton, Co. Cork
Hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Days Off: Sunday and Monday
Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and hard-working Kitchen Porter to join our team in our busy café and foodstore. The ideal candidate will play a key support role in maintaining cleanliness, organisation, and efficiency in the kitchen and back-of-house areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the cleanliness of all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas.
- Wash pots, pans, crockery, cutlery, and other kitchen items promptly and efficiently.
- Dispose of waste and recycling appropriately.
- Keep floors clean and free of hazards (e.g., mopping, sweeping, removing spills).
- Follow hygiene, health, and safety regulations as required at all times.
- Ensure back-of-house areas (e.g., storage, fridges, bins) are clean and well organised.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role is an advantage but not essential.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- A strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Good level of physical fitness – the role involves standing for long periods
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
