We are seeking an experienced Store/Stock Parts Manager for our Headquarters to oversee the inventory and management of parts for our plant hire fleet, including excavators, teleporters, generators, electric hoists, dumpers, and other general plant equipment. The successful candidate will ensure timely procurement and availability of essential parts, with particular expertise in ordering engine components and filters, to minimize equipment downtime and support efficient operations. Prior experience is essential.
Parts Inventory Manager
Responsibilities
Inventory & Stock Control
Maintain accurate stock levels of parts, especially engine parts, filters, and consumables for a variety of generators and general plant.
Conduct regular stock audits and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
Manage reorder points and optimize stock levels to prevent shortages or excess stock.
Work with and under the instruction of hire department and field engineers
Procurement and Supplier Relations
Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and terms to ensure cost-effective procurement.
Maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers to ensure prompt delivery of parts.
Storage and Organisation
Organise the store efficiently to facilitate quick access, safety, and cleanliness.
Ensure proper disposal or storage of hazardous materials in compliance with safety regulations.
Follow safe systems in work environment and enforce health and safety protocols within the store area
Record Keeping & Reporting
Maintain detailed records of stock movements, procurement, and inventory levels using relevant software systems.
Generate reports on stock status, usage trends, and procurement activities for management review.
Requirements
Proven experience in parts inventory management within a comparable sector.
Strong knowledge of engine parts, filters, and general plant equipment components.
Experience in ordering and sourcing engine parts and filters is essential.
Excellent organisational, negotiation, and communication skills.
Familiarity with inventory management software.
Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.
Strong safety awareness and commitment.
Working Conditions
Primarily indoor store environment with outdoor storage areas.
May involve physical tasks such as lifting and moving parts and equipment.
8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday
