Baby Room Leader – Full-Time

Enquiring Minds Childcare is looking for an experienced, caring and enthusiastic Baby Room Leader to lead our baby room team.

Our approach is child-led and focused on providing calm, nurturing environments where babies have time and space to explore at their own pace.
Heuristic play is an important part of our baby-room practice. We provide babies with opportunities to explore natural materials, everyday objects, sensory experiences and open-ended resources that encourage curiosity, movement and independent discovery.
The role
As Baby Room Leader, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the room and for supporting your team to provide consistently high-quality care and learning experiences.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading, supporting and guiding the baby-room team
- Creating a warm, nurturing and welcoming environment
- Ensuring each baby’s individual routines, needs and development are respected
- Planning child-led experiences informed by Aistear and Síolta
- Promoting heuristic play, sensory exploration and age-appropriate learning
- Supporting the key-person approach and secure attachments
- Working closely with parents and providing regular updates on their child
- Maintaining accurate records, including observations, attendance, sleep, feeding and care records
- Ensuring all policies, procedures and Tusla regulations are followed
- Maintaining appropriate staffing ratios and supporting the effective organisation of the room
- Ensuring high standards of hygiene, safety and infection control
- Supporting new staff members and encouraging positive teamwork
- Working closely with the manager and wider staff team
Essential requirements
Applicants must have:
- A minimum Level 7 qualification in Early Childhood Care and Education, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Department of Children, Disability and Equality
- Previous experience working with babies or children under two
- Previous Room Leader, supervisory or strong senior educator experience
- A good understanding of Aistear, Síolta and the Early Years Regulations
- Knowledge of child safeguarding and Children First
- Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills
- A warm, patient and respectful approach to working with babies
- The ability to build positive relationships with parents, children and colleagues
- Eligibility to work in Ireland
- The ability to complete Garda vetting and provide satisfactory references
