About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and dependable Cleaning Supervisor to join our team. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing the cleaning and upkeep of 27 apartments across Galway City. The successful candidate will lead and coordinate a team of cleaners, ensuring all properties are maintained to the highest standard and that daily operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the cleaning team across all properties, ensuring apartments are turned over to a consistently high standard and on schedule.
- Carry out cleaning of residential apartments directly where required, including kitchens, bathrooms, living areas and bedrooms.
- Organise and manage daily cleaning schedules, assigning tasks to team members based on checkouts and priorities.
- Conduct quality checks on completed cleans before guest arrivals, ensuring all properties meet required standards.
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and consumables, reporting stock shortages to management.
- Report any maintenance issues or damage observed during cleans promptly to the facilities team.
- Ensure all cleaning checklists and property-specific requirements are followed consistently.
- Support the onboarding and training of new cleaning staff.
- Act as the main point of contact between the cleaning team and management, communicating daily updates via WhatsApp or other agreed channels.
- Manage and count linen rejects, placing them in separate labelled bags and providing accurate counts to management to support credit claims from the external laundry provider.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a supervisory or senior cleaning role, preferably in the hospitality or short-term rental sector.
- Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to consistently high cleaning standards.
- Availability to work Monday to Sunday and on public holidays as required.
- Ability to work efficiently under time pressure while maintaining quality.
- Good communication and time management skills.
- Trustworthy, reliable, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Full, clean driving licence is desirable, particularly for travel between properties.
