Deputy Head of Boys Boarding Opportunity
Wilson’s Hospital School is a co-educational boarding facility with 120 boarding students. International students stay seven days a week and national students Sunday evening until Friday afternoon.
We’re seeking an inspiring, experienced leader to assist the Head of Boys Boarding (HOBB) to help shape a vibrant, nurturing environment where students thrive.
As Deputy Head of Boys Boarding, you’ll oversee the Boys’ Houses, assist in line-managing the duty staff team, and ensure boarding is a highlight of school life — safe, supportive, academically enriching, and full of memorable experiences.
Key responsibilities:
· Provide assistance in supporting the HOBB in strategic leadership and vision for all boarding operations and pastoral care.
· Assist in Managing and developing the house staff team, including duty rotas, training, and performance.
· Build strong relationships with boarders, parents, and guardians.
· Champion boarding across the wider school community.
· Support the Church of Ireland Christian ethos of the school.
· Ensure compliance with all safeguarding, health & safety, and boarding standards.
· Organise enriching weekend and evening activities.
You’ll bring:
· Proven senior experience in boarding or pastoral leadership (ideally in a school setting).
· Excellent people skills, resilience, and a genuine love for working with young people.
· Strong organisational and team-management abilities.
· A solution-focused, positive approach and high personal standards.
· Relevant qualifications and full safeguarding clearance.
