Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Host / Evening Manager to oversee the evening operation of our busy hotel bar in a 3-star hotel located in Dublin 4, close to the Aviva Stadium. The successful candidate will ensure exceptional guest service, lead the evening team, and maintain high operational standards, particularly during busy match days, concerts, and other major events.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day evening operation of the hotel bar.
- Welcome guests and ensure a friendly, professional, and efficient service.
- Supervise, motivate, and support the bar team throughout the shift.
- Ensure service standards are maintained during busy trading periods and large events.
- Coordinate staff breaks and allocate duties to ensure efficient service.
- Handle guest enquiries, complaints, and feedback promptly and professionally.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages or ordering requirements.
- Ensure all cash handling, till balancing, and end-of-day procedures are completed accurately.
- Maintain compliance with Irish licensing laws, HACCP standards, and health and safety regulations.
- Ensure the bar is clean, well-presented, and fully stocked throughout the shift.
- Work closely with Reception, Kitchen, and Housekeeping teams to provide an excellent guest experience.
- Train and support new team members where required.
- Maximise food and beverage sales through excellent customer service and upselling.
- Act as the Manager on Duty during evening shifts when required.
Requirements
- Minimum 2–3 years' experience in a busy hotel bar, restaurant, or licensed premises.
- Previous supervisory or management experience is essential.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure during high-volume service.
- Experience with cash handling, till reconciliation, and stock control.
- Good knowledge of Irish licensing legislation, HACCP, and health and safety procedures.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and major event days.

Pay: €14.15-€15.00 per hour
