Role Summary:
We wish to recruit a Strategic Procurement Category Buyer to join our Group Procurement team based at our head office in Waterford. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the team through best-in-class procurement practices and by adhering to best practice procedures, delivering a quality service, and maximising value for money and cost efficiencies on behalf of the Group.
The Categories of focus are primarily packaging & other production critical consumables. The candidate will be a resource and support to the Group sustainability team.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be based at our Group Offices in Grannagh, Waterford and in conjunction with the wider team will support;

The Strategic Group Procurement Manager & Group Procurement Head of Finance when leading Categories on behalf of the sites in both Ireland and the UK;

The packaging team by resolving supply chain issues, surfacing streamlining opportunities, data cleansing for sustainability submissions.

The packaging technology team with innovation trials and opportunities

The Cross-functional teams with their project objectives;
The successful candidate with the wider team will be responsible for;

Promoting best procurement practices across the Group;

Development sourcing and risk mitigation strategies;
-
Researching, sourcing and Prequalifying new suppliers to introduce contingencies;

Researching, analysing and surfacing new potential projects;
-
Following market trends to identify products which are fit for the purpose;

Preparing tender suite documentation & analysing responses;
-
Negotiating prices with suppliers;
-
Problem Solving disputes and claims with suppliers;
-
Project Deployment & Managing Change;
-
Project Managing Categories;
-
Crisis Management Unexpected Events;

Involved in reviewing and writing up contracts & terms of sale;

Managing supplier relationships;
-
Preparing reports & reporting to Senior Managers & Executives;

Experience:
- IT proficient to an advanced standard in Microsoft Office and in particular Microsoft Excel;

Relevant 3rd level qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, or a relevant business degree is desirable.
