We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineering & Digital Manager to lead the site's automation strategy, digital transformation roadmap, and automation engineering team.
This role is responsible for the reliability, performance, and future development of the site's automation and digital infrastructure across manufacturing, packaging, and utility operations. Working closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Global Automation teams, you will drive automation excellence, reduce operational losses, improve asset performance, and identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies to deliver measurable business value.
As the site's Automation Leader, you will own the automation vision, technology standards, systems lifecycle management, and talent development strategy while ensuring compliance with GMP, quality, safety, and cybersecurity requirements.

Own and develop the site's automation and digitalization strategy aligned with business and corporate objectives.
Lead the "Factory of the Future" roadmap, identifying opportunities to improve productivity, reliability, quality, and operational efficiency through digital technologies.
Define automation standards, governance, and lifecycle management processes across hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
Develop and execute the site automation obsolescence strategy, ensuring technology risks are identified and proactively mitigated.
Evaluate and implement emerging technologies including Industry 4.0, Industrial IoT, AI-enabled solutions, advanced analytics, and connected manufacturing platforms.
Own the site automation systems register and technology roadmap.
Lead the performance, reliability, maintenance, and continuous improvement of automation systems supporting manufacturing, packaging, and utilities.
Partner with Engineering and Operations teams to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), reduce downtime, and eliminate recurring automation-related losses.
Provide technical leadership for complex troubleshooting, root cause investigations, and critical site issues.
Drive standardization and best practices across automation platforms, controls systems, and digital applications.
Collaborate with global automation teams to leverage expertise, share best practices, and accelerate innovation.
Lead, coach, and develop a team of automation and controls engineers.
Build a strong talent pipeline through succession planning, mentoring, capability development, and recruitment.
Define and deliver automation and digital skills development programs across the engineering organization.
Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
Ensure automation systems comply with GMP, quality, health & safety, and corporate engineering standards.
Provide technical expertise during regulatory and internal audits.
Ensure industrial control systems and OT infrastructure align with cybersecurity standards and best practices.
Support machinery safety compliance and statutory requirements across site assets.
Identify and lead opportunities to improve manufacturing performance through automation, analytics, and digital solutions.
Develop business cases for automation investments and technology upgrades.
Deliver measurable business benefits through system optimization, digital implementations, and process improvements.
Manage relationships with automation suppliers, system integrators, and technical partners.
Define technical specifications and oversee contractor performance to ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective delivery of automation solutions.
Support technology selection, procurement, and implementation activities across the site.
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, Controls Engineering, or a related discipline.
8+ years of experience in automation, controls, or industrial systems within a manufacturing environment.
Previous experience leading automation, controls, or digital manufacturing teams.
Strong expertise in industrial automation systems including PLCs, SCADA, HMI, industrial networks, instrumentation, motion control, and machine safety.
Experience defining automation standards, technology roadmaps, and lifecycle management strategies.
Understanding of OT cybersecurity principles and industrial network architectures.
Knowledge of Industry 4.0 technologies, Industrial IoT, advanced analytics, AI, and digital manufacturing solutions.
Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and deliver operational improvements through automation.
Experience within FMCG, consumer healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical device, food, beverage, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
Proven success delivering business value through digital transformation and automation initiatives.
Experience managing automation obsolescence programs and technology upgrades.
Track record of improving manufacturing performance through automation and data-driven decision making.
Experience supporting GMP-compliant manufacturing operations.
Strong problem-solving capability with experience leading root cause investigations and resolving complex operational challenges.
Experience presenting technical strategies and investment proposals to senior leadership teams.
Knowledge of engineering standards, machinery safety, and statutory compliance requirements within manufacturing environments.
